Inside the launcher go to settings enable keyboard helper mod, then open up key event display to get the scan codes, then switch back to the blackberry keyboard and setup your controls the best combo for gaming ive found looks like this

Building an E-commerce website:

E-commerce websites can be challenging, there are only two e-commerce systems in the industry that are worth taking a look at for small to medium business, Shopify & Woocommerce.

• Shopify is its own system, allowing people to pay for a e-commerce website and manage it themselves, a popular option for smaller stores.
• Woocommerce is an engine for building woocommerce websites, I use it as a framework when building websites, many of the stores I have built have been very successful on that framework. A couple of my clients had their sites and products featured on dragons den and have driven sales amounting to $20,000 /monthly with no issue.

Online Store Planning

In my experience, there are a couple of points to be aware of when building online stores, first it’s to learn that E-commerce stores all really have a similar design and framework and the closer we stay to that the more successful it will be (clients coming to the site will already know how to use it). E-commerce sites from a design perspective are simple; product categories on the left, products on the right. I have attached a screenshots below;

Product Entry

Here is an example of understanding product entry and how e-commerce sites can manage product and inventory.

• Example: A simple method of inputting products would be adding 9 products for small, medium, large t-shirts, that come in three different colours, blue, red, white.
• Example 2: An advanced educated method of inputting products would be 1 product with 2 attributes size and colour resulting in 9 variations

  • small white t-shirt

That way you set up one product and it can actually be 9 different products because of the variations, I have seen people do this backwards, and then when it comes to managing their inventory they can’t keep track of anything, and the stores fail.

Shipping

Another challenging topic is shipping, there are “plugins” that integrate to your website and automatically calculate shipping on weight & dimensions and distance (UPS, CANADA POST and FEDEX). However it can be a lot of data entry and management, I don’t recommend using that option in beginning. Your best to flat rate your shipping when you start, and figure out some box sizes.

Photography

Take Good Photos! Depending on how many products your selling and how often they change, you may want to outsource this or setup a small little studio yourself. Smartphone Video Editing

In my research I watched a video that was shot on an iphone 5s and edited on an Ipad, It was for Bentley, and it was amazing. So I looked into iOS video editors and found iMovie, Splice, Quik and a number of others. What was interesting about these programs was just how fast they were, I could cut, trim and add music faster than ever. With proper planning, post production, templates and some videography techniques I could create amazing films just using iphone and ipad apps.

Style

I have noticed that there is a certain style and way to present certain types of footage, for an example nature videos are different than concert videos. Each film category contains a number of different styles and techniques that bring to life the scene. My passion revolves around motorcycles, when I begin researching and watching motorcycle videos and carefully look for the techniques used, it helps me better understand how to film motorcycles, If your planning on filming fashion, the techniques will be different. Using this strategy, and watching video with a careful eye has taught me alot about videography. Adding effects, transitions, and using the right len’s can go a long way with producing stellar video.

Audio

If your going to be recording audio with your smartphone film, I highly suggest using a second piece of technology specifically designed for audio recording, unfortunately the technology on most smartphones doesn’t allow for good audio for film. Getting a Zoom H6 will give you all audio recording functions you need, and it will sound natural and crisp.

These automated tasks begin to form a neural net of action and reaction responses. My first experiments of automation, came in the form of keyboard macros,( it was useful while playing video games). I bought a G15 keyboard from Logitech that allowed me to program keystrokes into “one key” (called a G key). If I needed to perform a rapid set of keystrokes in response to an action I’d simply hit the G key and sit back. In the video game world this was considered fair, all I was doing was making myself more efficient. However some would argue this was unfair.The limitation of macro’s is it could not respond to the situation for me and change the keystrokes, in short I still needed to react.

Then came the bots…

Having a macro was not enough for some players, so they built an automated program that ran in the background of your computer that could respond to what was happening on the screen. This led to automated players often called “farmers”, in the game these players would keep performing the same set of tasks over and over again all day, (mining, fishing) which would result in a quick gain of in game wealth.

This led to a huge effect on the in-game economy, causing fluctuating commodities prices and quick devaluation of expensive goods. It messed up the game so much that game company had to start finding these automated farmers and shut them down, but the damage to the game and the virtual economy was vast.

Thats why I fear A.I.

It can be damaging to a free enterprise market, The majority of people do not have access to the same technology as these major companies and because the cost of trying to replicate there technology is so high, its virtually impossible to play the “game” in a traditional sense

I hope I’m making sense, Identifying bots in the real world can be hard, but to give you some perspective; If you hit the brake on your car its a macro, if your car slows down for you its A.I. (because its responding for you and making the adjustments). The advantage of those who have a self driving car would be a great impact to our economy, for those that have it. The more we build in A.I. the more automated things become, including life itself.

The Enigma

Even though I fear it, doesn’t mean I can’t see its advantage, and its purpose, and this can be demonstrated in our history,the decoding of the enigma machine, (one of my favourite tech films). Alan Turing realized that humans could not solve the problem, he knew he needed a machine to decode the german communication, so he built one, and some would say he saved the world. That was a result of a very simple A.I.

Conclusion

I predict that A.I. will effect the financial system greatly, money as a concept may become less important, and people won’t need to buy things or pay for anything because the system will provide basic needs. But if there is money I suspect it will be very expensive to have, and will correlate very closely to raw materials. I suspect useful assets will hold there value and possibly even increase.

I suspect people will start helping people more regularly and we will share common goals, I think traditional trades and practices will also be highly sought after.

I won’t pretend to know the answer, but it does beg for some speculation. After consulting with a couple friends and colleagues, they all seem to be under the impression that crypto currency, such as BitCoin, are in a bubble.

What is a Bubble?

A bubble is a type of investing phenomenon that demonstrates the most basic type of “emotional investing”. A bubble occurs when investors put so much demand on an asset that they drive the price beyond any accurate or rational reflection of its actual worth*.

If this is true, then we would assume that the value of BTC is driven by investors dumping money into these crypto exchanges, therefore driving the price to such high levels. That would seem to make sense for most of us. However here is the other side of the equation. BTC is not only driving its value from investors, its driving its value from its day to day use.

Example:

Company hires a remote worker, when a company goes to pay the remote worker we find that transacting with BTC (technology) is easier, cheaper and more accessible than systems like western union and bank transfers. Therefore driving more volume and demand for Bitcoin.

The Value of Crypto

As more companies and people begin to use crypto technologies to transact payments into Fiat, I speculate that crypto will continue to increase in volume. The value of crypto currencies like Bitcoin will be worked out later in the future if and when the economy demands that everyone require BTC to buy and sell.

What a Bitcoin Future could look like? (this is all speculation and just for fun)

• Lets say theres 7 billion people in the world and everybody got a piece of BTC it would equal 0.003
• Now lets give it economical value, by saying that .003 BTC would have to equal a years salary
• that is .00025 a month, which would equal 0.0000576923 a week, (coincidental that A Satoshi unit is the lowest transacted BTC is 0.00000001 BTC)
• So lets take .003 and equate it to an average world persons salary of 18,000 USD
• So now lets look at the value of BTC as it relates to our equation
• .003 = 18,000 USD of economical value:
• Divide 1 / .003 = 333.333, then 333.333 x 18,000 USD = 1BTC = 5,999,994
• One BTC might equal 5,999,994 USD, assuming that the 21 million coin cap stays in place.

Conclusion

As you can see it wouldnt take a lot of BTC to hold a meaningful amount, if these crypto currencies somehow happen to take the place of Fiat currency, its not going to happen overnight, its going to happen slowly. As with all new technologies, they are fun to hold, play with and learn about. Its pretty cool I can download a file onto my PC and it have actual value.

smart contracts, enable decentralized ledgers to act on data that they receive

Imagine all of the technology we use on a daily basis, (cell phones, microwaves, cars, laptops, washers, dryers etc) has an onboard computer, that tracks when it is used and where it is.

IoT = Internet of Things

These IoT devices begin building a ledger of information that is processed into a string of data that is hashed (secured) by the onboard computer and then added to the decentralized ledger (Blockchain DB).

When the device is connected to the network it uploads the data to the decentralized ledger of its other connected devices. Each device stores a complete copy of the data, so that it can continually verifiy its own transactions within the network.

The data itself becomes the record of transaction that creates the information that could be used for billing, maintenance and service.

If a company wants to invest in blockchain technology, they would first have to start with building ledger that allowed their hardware to communicate with each other on a decentralized network. If that ledger was built with a smart contract function, then simple automation becomes possible. If that ledger contains a computer then extensive automation becomes possible.

• Bitcoin was a decentralized ledger.
• Ethereum was a decentralized ledger with a smart contract (ability to perform functions based on the data inside the ledger).
• IOTA is a decentralized ledger, that has computer built into the code, that can be interfaced into any machine. (it can perform many smart contract functions as well as give your cell phone an operating system).

Now at least when I hear the term blockchain I can at assign some value of applicable technology. The noise generated from Blockchain promo makes it really hard for anyone to truly understand the solutions Blockchain technology can deliver. What I have described here is also referenced by the industry as Industry 4.0 / IOT
